As AI is bringing new features to our smartphones and making them smarter Google is about to launch the next phase of AI with the new Pixel 9 pro. We're expecting to see the new pixel 9 pro in two variants (the pixel 9 pro and 9 pro XL). As always AI features will be a highlight of the new event.

7 Things to know about the Pixel 9 pro

  1. Release date: While Pixel smartphones normally appear in October, with the Pixel failing to appear in October only ones which was in 2020 when the pixel 5 appeared aat the end of September, But this time again in 2024 google is releasing their newest pixels on August 13 as confirmed by google in a teaser video posted on Google's youtube channel 

  2. Price: This is really hard to tell even few days to the event, last year the pixel 8 pro had a 100$ increase in price, and with rumours on an XL version starting at 1,099$ the pixel 9 pro will probably start at a cheaper price

  3. Design: The Pixel 9 pro is rumoured to come in two sizes the pixel 9 pro with a 6.1 inch display and the pro XL to come with a larger 6.8 inch display, the pixel 9 pro is also said to come in four colours black, white, green, pink.

     
  4. Display: The display of the new pixel 9 pro are tipped to be brighter than their predecessor. A report says that the pixel 9 pro will feature the same OLED panel as the upcoming iPhone 16. There is another potential display feature called adaptive touch capability which will make screens
    more responsive depending on environment, activities and whether or not you have a screen protector or not

Camera: They are no major camera upgrades coming to the new pixel 9 pro, but some minor improvements are coming to the camera. the ultra wide sensor is tipped to come with a new larger sensor but with the same 48MP that the pixel 8 pro offers, the pixel 9 pro is also rumoured to have a 50MP front facing camera with autofocus
6. Performance: The pixel 9 pro will definately come with the tensor G4 chipset, it is said to have minor upgrades over it's predecessor.
The tensor G4 chipset could have some new technologies due to it's creation by Samsung 
This new chip is said to bring 16GB RAM to the pro models and the storage is set to start at 128GB ROM all the way to 1TB.
7. Artificial Intelligence and Software: The pixel series where the first to introduce AI into the smartphone with features like magic editor, and google doesn't seem to be slowing down with the new Pixel 9 pro.
The device is said to have text-to-image conversion, enhanced magic compose capabilities, it is also rumoured to have some new AI tools such as Add Me for editing group pictures, a studio tool for creating images with generative AI and also a call notes feature which will give the user the ability to record and transcribe phone calls. The Pixel 9 pro is tipped to arrive with android 14 instead of android 15 due to the early realease
